Back from another planet!

In March, I realised one of my very old dreams. I visited Nepal. This was a real experience for me! Amazing mountains...amazing landscapes...very nice poeple! In one word, I really enjoyed my travel.

I have to say I'm a real mountain lover! Visiting Himalaya was one of my oldest dreams as was a travel in the Andes (I made in 2007 while visiting Argentina - see the pictures I've taken there on this site).

During my trip I made a really nice trek to Annapurna Base Camp - a 9 day trek to go to one of the nicer places I ever visited in mountains.... In addition to the nice sight, the trek offered me the opportunity to meet other trekkers... In the lodge..even alone you are never really lonely!

After this trek I stayed a few days in Pokora to "reload" the batteries...and taking advantage to stay with my friends. I visited the International museum of the mountain.. and other activities... Even when resting I need activity ;).

After this short stay in Pokhora and before getting back home, I decided to stay a few days in Kathmandu to have the opportunity to visit some nice spots around this city.

I visited Baktapur, Patan, the temples of Pashupatinah, the stupas of Swayambhunath (nown as Monkey temple) and of Bodnath.

The stronger experience I had was the visit of the indouist temple of Pashupatinah... you will understand when I'll publish the pictures I took.

Now, I'm back to the reality.... Back to my day-to-day reality. I promised myself to go back to Nepal! It's a facinating country... easy to visit but very different from our occidental culture.

I still have the rememberings and the pictures I'll share on this site. I have more about 1800 picture to sort... panos to assemble so it will take some time to sort all out...

Hi Luc,
I saw your photo "Selcuk - St John basilic 2" [link] and clicked through. I'm glad I did. Your gallery is AWESOME. I want to go to Turkey! :headbang: ~ Steve

Thanks for your visit on my gallery!
Turkey is a nice country, nice landscapes, nice architecture,... and nice poeple! It's so easy to travel there! I'd like to make another travel in Turkey for more than 13days ;)
Cool. Are Ephesus and Selcuk easy to get to, and is the area safe? I would love to see them some day. I'd also like to be able to take a 13 day vacation! :D Maybe some day... ~ Steve

It's easy to go there (airplanes, busses...)! No problem of safety in Turkey... In Selcuk I had the best hotel room for the cheapest price of my trip ;)
Thanks for the :+fav: :D

Interesting page and gallery! :)
How did you like Purmamarca and the northern Andes? I was there last summer (winter there). But still an amazing temperature ;) Hoping to upload some of the photos soon.
Thanks for appreciation!
I really falled in love for the Andes! It was one of my child's dreams... and it was much better than I expected! I'll probably travel again in that region, visiting Chili, Bolivia and Perou.
